PREPSKILLS® familiarizes students with the admission process and focuses on test-taking strategies, skill-building exercises, and essay writing. Skill development is reinforced through practice by working on fundamental skills and question types in the areas of Mathematics, Verbal ability, and Reading Comprehension. PREPSKILLS® offers a unique and challenging program in which we strive to develop not only test-taking skills but also each child's self-esteem, confidence and ability to reach their full potential.

Standard Program:
Using COMPUTESTTM , a 3 hour innovative online diagnostic SSAT test, your child's strengths and weaknesses will be assessed. The in-class instructional component is comprised of six classes, each 3 hours in length. Upon completion of the course, PREPSKILLS® offers a 3 hour simulated test; administered under "real test" conditions. The students find this experience to be the highlight of the course, as strategies learned are reinforced and test-taking fears dispelled. Unique to PREPSKILLS® is a 3 hour Résumé & Interview skills workshop. Students are trained in the art of résumé writing, application techniques and introduced to the strategies that assist them in putting their "best foot" forward at interview time. Knowing that your child is well prepared will develop confidence and help them rise to the challenge and achieve to the best of their ability!

Extended Program:
Using COMPUTESTTM , a 3 hour innovative online diagnostic SSAT test, your child's strengths and weaknesses will be assessed. A 3 hour midterm SSAT will be administered under real test-taking conditions to provide feedback at the midpoint of the program. Upon completion of the course, PREPSKILLS® offers a 3 hour simulated test; administered under "real test" conditions. The students find this experience to be the highlight of the course, as strategies learned are reinforced and test-taking fears dispelled. Unique to PREPSKILLS® is a 3 hour Résumé & Interview skills workshop. Students are trained in the art of résumé writing, application techniques and introduced to the strategies that assist them in putting their "best foot" forward at interview time. Knowing that your child is well prepared will develop confidence and help them rise to the challenge and achieve to the best of their ability!
This program is best suited for students interested in additional exercises and skill building over a longer period of time.

 Comprehensive Materials
Students receive the full compliment of test preparation material. Materials include a 300 page course book, exercise books, PREPKITTM, vocabulary flashcards containing the most frequently used words on admission tests, COMPUTESTTM computerized diagnostic, and practice tests.
Students have access to our on-line resources including links to math and language skill builders. In addition, parents will receive progress reports after the diagnostic test and the PREPSKILLS® - simulated test.
Students are assigned homework from our materials to be completed prior to the next lesson. Homework is designed to reinforce the content while improving the student's application of strategy over time. Repeated practice is the key to success in order to reap the benefits of the course. |

 COMPUTESTTM Diagnostic
Upon commencement of the course, an online diagnostic evaluation is used to recognize strengths and weaknesses. The diagnostic report of their scores will be analyzed and used to focus on specific problem areas. Teacher directed lessons will facilitate the learning process by finding the most effective strategies to help your child score to his or her potential.

 Teachers & Peer Support
Our teachers are hand picked and Ontario certified and our low pupil teacher ratio (maximum 6 students per class) allows us to further tailor the curriculum and homework to the needs of each student. PREPSKILLS® teachers will help your child make the critical connection between the material learned and how to use that material to succeed on the test. The focus is to provide for significant personal attention while students gain peer support.
All teachers attend PREPSKILLS® seminars and workshops. They are well versed in the PREPSKILLS® philosophy, curriculum, methodology and strategies. PREPSKILLS® welcomes the opportunity of working cooperatively with parents. Communication is vital! We encourage parents to monitor their child's homework and progress. Feel free to communicate with your child's teacher about any concerns.

 Parent Seminars and PREPSKILLS®- Simulated Test
PREPSKILLS® not only provides test preparation skills, but is also dedicated to ensuring that both parents and students feel comfortable with the admission process. We are renowned for our personal service and are happy to assist you through this journey. Engaging and informative seminars are offered at no additional charge for parents and students to bring the benefits of test preparation and gain an understanding of test results and the admission process.
At the end of each course students have the opportunity to relieve anxiety and increase confidence by writing a simulated SSAT exam. We provide the students with "real" test writing conditions. Students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity! Progress reports will be forwarded to parents.
